07 - 23 - 2010 Window replacements to take place on county courthouse
(LS) The Mifflin Co. Commissioners voted to replace windows in the county courthouse in a decision that many feel was long overdue. An agreement was drafted with J-Way Architechural of Summit to do the work at a rate of $65/hr. for up to 48 hours of work to draw up plans for the windows. Commissioner Chairman, Mark Sunderland, remarked that the project will provide more energy efficiency as the ones currently installed are "junk". Commissioner Otis Riden concurred that the new windows will equal savings on the courthouse's energy bill stating that during the windy winter months, he can actuall see the blinds move from the drafts. The county would draw from an item in last year's budget to cover the costs of the window project.
