07 - 09 - 2010 Neighbor helps pair from burning roof in Mifflinburg fire
(DI) As flames consumed everything in their way on the other side of his 2-story duplex, a Mifflinburg man scaled a ladder and rescued 2 neighbors stranded on a rooftop. As the blaze whipped through the building early yesterday morning, Korey 31-y/o Zimmerman saved 43-y/o Mark Hannah & an unidentified person. After getting his family to safety, Zimmerman said he saw Hannah & another person yelling "Fire!" from the roof. Zimmerman was at first panicked by the thought of his family being so close to a burning building. State police said the fire's origin is undetermined pending further investigation. The fire was contained mostly to the living room area, & damage is estimated at $100,000.
