| (CDT) With temperatures yesterday soaring well into the 90s, crafters & vendors welcomed the public to the annual Peopleâs Choice Festival. If there was a place nobody at the Peopleâs Choice Festival wanted to be, Tim Bradford was standing in it. He worked over a portable forge blasting out intense heat. But thatâs life for a blacksmith. The 52-y/o Bradford owns Dragonâs Breath Forge in Pleasant Gap, & heâs been hammering & twisting metal since the mid-1980s. Meanwhile, EMTs brought several overheated people into the medical tent for water & cool cloths. Festival volunteers had to take others back to their cars in golf carts. For todayâs visitors, Kathy Near, a Centre LifeLink EMT at the festival, recommended drinking plenty of waterâat least a quart an hourâ& keeping pets at home. She added that âthe dogs arenât handling this wellâ. |
