07 - 07 - 2010 Heat advisory issued for Juniata Valley as temps soar
Juniata, Union, & Snyder Counties have fallen under a heat advisory from the National Weather Service as highs today top close to the century mark. The heat adivsory will be in effect until 8pm with hazardous weather lasting today into tonight. A large ridge of high pressure over PA is bringing the uncomfortable & potentially dangerous heat to our area. Low temperatures from last night have set up another hot day with highs reaching into the upper 90s by this afternoon. Thompsontown reported hitting 100 degrees yesterday & that could repeat again today. The heat that is combined with a moderate level of humidity will create temperatures between 100-104 degrees by this afternoon.
