| (LS) Taxpayers of Mifflin Co. will have to shell out an additional $38 per person in the next year to help the school district meet its need to pay its debts. The Mifflin Co. School Board approved next year's school budget of $63.6 million last night that will include a 1.03% mil hike. School Board Director Ruth Armstrong said the real estate tax of 26.23 mils for next year is considered "quite reasonable" as the district is dealing with cuts in state funding & increasing costs. This comes as the district cut some funding for athletics & will be furloughing some teacher positions. |
