| (LS) In Mifflintown last night, the Juniata Co. School Board revealed the harsh reality that money is tight & expenses are on the rise. This means that county residents will have to be tapped to pay for the difference. The board approved almost a 3% increase in the milage tax in the $32.4 million budget. Superintendent Ken Albaugh said itâs âwhat had to beâ with the board Director Elaine Van Horn adding that the board went to great lengths to pare down the budget without hurting education. This move means some schools in the county will close but board members emphasized that the public would be an active part in that process. |
