06 - 11 - 2010 Morning commuters deal with 2nd crash near twin bridges
(LS) For the 2nd time in as many days, another crash hampered eastbound drivers between the Burnham & Reedsville exits along US 322. This time, a tanker-truck hauling QuickLime went off the roadway in heavy fog around 5am yesterday morning. The scene was clogged for over 2½ hours as crews worked to free the driver from the truck after he had been pinned in the wreckage from the crash. The unidentified driver was taken to Lewistown Hospital for treatment once he was removed from the truck by Reedsville Fire Co. & City Hook & Ladder personnel. Clean up of the several hundred pounds of spilled QuickLime was completed before both lanes of the roadway could be re-opened.
